I am a registered nurse turned SAHM. I am married to a wonderful hubby, a hard working man of God and paramedic. We have five children ranging in ages from 1 to 17, four kings and one queen. We live in the "ye ole south". We have not always homeschooled. Our children have been in public and private school before coming home. God had placed homeschooling on my heart
when my oldest was in first grade but we had no clue as to how or where to begin nor did we know any homeschoolers at the time. I didn't even have internet access. I continued to work full-time as an RN and my oldest continued attending public school until sixth grade when we placed our dc into private school. Three years ago, after much prayer and careful research, God made provision for me to become a full-time SAHM in order to educate our children according to His word. I have learned so much about myself and about my children in the past three years. We wouldn't choose any other way to educate our children now that they are home. With God's guidance, we plan to homeschool our children all the way.
Along our journey, we have discovered that we are electic homeschoolers. We use a little of this and that from a few teaching approaches. I don't believe that there's one perfect approach to teaching. I believe that all approaches have something unique to offer and can be pulled into a learning environment specifically designed for a child. We homeschool year round so there is year round chaos at my home.

Other information that you may want to know is that I have a querky sense of humor or I'm told. I have self diagnosed myself with adult ADHD. I love tweeking recipes, working in children's ministry, cuddling with my family on the couch for a good comedy or book and just being a "real" mom.
