An Entrusted Treasure of Great Worth

As you approach this New Year with the last half of the homeschooling year in mind, I want you to consider this Scripture passage. Acts 17:26-28 states,
“From one man God made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’”
These verses are always so encouraging to me. God gave you the exact children that He desired for you to raise up for Him. They are not ours forever. No one else is accountable to God for how you raise your children but you. God hand chose you to be that parent. In this journey of homeschooling God has entrusted you with this task at hand. He will never give you a task to carry out that He will not fully equip you to do.
We are all children of the King who is never far from us. Whenever things get tough we would do well to remember that. In every detail of our lives God is always near. He knows our thoughts and struggles. He is the one who understands every bit of it. When we desire the very best for our children who are His children He smiles on us.
It is our job to teach our children about God in word and deed. Our actions impact them more than any words that we can ever say. Perhaps homeschooling is the best discipleship program for them because they get to observe our walk with the Lord around the clock. It needs to be authentic and real. It is a great privilege that we have to be able to home school our children.
So with that all said, know that you have a great purpose in these tasks. Let us encourage one another in this and bring glory to God in how we handle them. Let us be thankful for the job that God has entrusted us to do. In what ways can we pray for one another this school year?
