From the Amies…

Wow! Is it Spring already? I don’t know about you but Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. There is something about the newness of it all that brings such joy to my heart and home. Instinctively we begin to clean, organize, and begin home improvement projects that were put off during the cold winter months. We plant gardens and shift the clothing in our wardrobes. Then, as homeschooling parents, we begin searching online and through catalogs looking for curriculum that will be used to begin our next school year.

It is all about new life and new beginnings.

Can I prompt you to give birth to something new in your spirit? There is so much that can be said of sowing seeds and reaping a harvest. The Bible gives us much scripture about it to write on our hearts. So, how about you begin sowing seeds in the lives of others…in a bigger, bolder way?

My pastor always says that we can change the world by simply serving one. Can you grasp the power in that? Better yet, the Bible says that we will do greater works than Jesus Christ (John 14:12). We know that Jesus served many and gave 100% of Himself during His short 3 year ministry on earth. We have so many advancements that allow us to do more. Jesus walked; we can drive. Jesus had to meet face to face; we have the internet. Do you see what I’m talking about?

I ask that you would stop right now and pray for God to reveal to you how you can serve others and in what capacity you should do so. Then, with full fervor, begin to walk in that service unto Him for His people. Maybe you can’t physically go to a homeless shelter but you can cook a meal for the widow down the street. Maybe you can’t help build a house but you can offer child care free of charge to a single mom. Maybe you can’t aff ord to give too much to missions but you can commit to pray fervently.

Ask Him what you should do and then do it.

It is time for new beginnings. While you are busy in your garden, don’t forget to sow seeds for His kingdom!
