Arrows Being Shot at Me Each Day.

As a homeschooling mommy, I am often asked “HOW do you do it?” As if I am some superwoman. When the reality is, I am just as busy as the next mom.
Everyone has their own struggles, whether it is dealing with a job out of the home, a spouse with long hours, or many other trials we all face. It is not the trials that we face as we go through life, but it is what’s in our arsenal to help defend us against those trials that matters.
I have had a lot of arrows shot at me lately. You know the kind I mean…where when things are going so well, that the inevitable arrows shot at you by the enemy start flying.
We had a great start to our homeschool year. I love everything we have been doing. It has been easy. Our schedule is going smoothly, our curriculum choices are working well, and even the kids attitudes are in check!
That’s when the arrows come in… Mommy doesn’t feel well. The baby falls and needs stitches. Grandpa has had a heart attack.
And we get stretched to our limit.
It’s not the everyday challenges that I have a hard time dealing with. It is the arrows. But, as I tell people who ask me, “HOW do you do it?”
My answer:
“It is by the grace of God.” I do not do anything by my own strength. He continually provides for me through each day.
I must cling to Him. I really don’t know how people can go through any trials without Christ. I don’t even know how I would get through each day.
I could not do all the little everyday things or get through the barrage of arrows without him.
So next time someone refers to me as a superhero, yes, maybe I WILL agree…after all I have the shield of faith provided to me by my Savior. What better super power to have!
“You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day”
Psalm 91:5
