Great idea and easily adaptable for the different ages in my house. I will definitely link to this on my blog to share with others in my area. We are planning a trip for the beginning of next month. I can’t wait to see how they enjoy it.

Jimmie, my kids are all so different, I could probably come up with a different activity for each one! So I definitely agree that having a bunch of ideas in your bag of tricks is a great idea!

Lorraine, that postcard idea is great too. And you can get a small photo stand to display them at home after your trip so they can be reminded of their day!

Oh yeah! This is wonderful! I adore art museums, well actually any museum pretty much. I will add this to my Preparing for a Trip to an Art Museum lens.
We generally stay busy enough with oohing and ahhing over the art. And Sprite loves to sketch favorites. But I can imagine that some kids would really benefit from the structure of a specified task to accomplish in the museum.

Another idea I’ve found (online somewhere) was to stop at the gift shop first & buy one of those postcard packets. then have the kids hunt for the picture on the postcards.
