Blogs That Nurture – Nominate Your Favorites

As one of the leading home education websites on the net, we passionately want to encourage and inspire parents all over the world. We know that an ounce of encouragement goes a long way and that is why we are introducing Blogs That Nurture ~ 2008.

It’s a way to showcase some of your favorite blogs who have encouraged you with their written words and visual examples in 2008. This is a chance to showcase some of the most encouraging and inspiring blogs, and an opportunity to introduce our readers to some new and exciting people.

This is not a contest. There are no prizes.

Our vision for this is to simply add a page to Heart of the Matter Online with a fresh list of wonderful blogs that others can enjoy and glean from. We will obtain this list through nominations by you, the readers, and not simply based on our own opinion. No one will know who was nominated or how many people nominated each blog but the top ten of those who receive the most nominations in a category will be included on our website. In random order, of course.

We will accept nominees through February 28th, 2009 and shortly after the top 10 blogs in each category will be announced here on our site.

You can vote once in each of the following categories:

Mom Of the Year Blog
This is a woman who is an example to all. She is full of ideas and tips that help you to care for you family and keep your home in order. She is an exemplary vision of God’s love for His children.

Dad Of the Year Blog
Here is a guy who not only delivers in the workplace but he also delivers to full capacity at home. He is a spiritual leader, pro-active in his children’s lives, and always looking for ways to improve the family core.

Kid Of the Year Blog
Kids are so fun! We want to showcase a few that stand out for any reason. Maybe he has a great personality. Maybe she has a heart for the hurting and it shows through her writing. In any case, share with us your favorite kid blog and let us acknowledge them!

Most Vivid Blog
This blog is unique and artistic. It’s the blog that you are drawn to because of it’s beauty and design. Maybe they are into interiors or photography. Maybe they create one of a kind art. Maybe they have an eye for detail. Maybe their blog is a virtual scrapbook. No matter what it is, this blog has appeal!

Best Co-Operative Blog
This is a group blog category. This blog is a team of writers who inspire you with their words of encouragement and helpful tidbits for bringing your family closer to Him and closer to each other.

Most Informative Blog
This blog excels at delivering whether it is up to date news as it pertains to parenting and home education or more in-depth studies on methods, learning styles or teaching children with disabilities. This is the place where YOU learn.

The “OH, We Have To Do That!” Blog
You know the one… projects, lessons, crafts – you can find it on this blog. It is packed full of ideas and things to try. This is the one you rush to when your creative juices start flowing.

Awe Inspiring Parenting Tips Blog
Can’t we all use a bit of help in this area? God has given us such a privilege and duty when it comes to raising our children. We want to do it in a biblical and effective way but let’s be honest… we can’t think of everything! That is where this blog comes in. We definitely learn from theses experienced parents who have “been there, done that.”

This is a person who loves their family and friends and is always pouring out thoughts and ways that you can love your family more. A man/woman after after God’s own heart.

The rules are:

Each household may only nominate once. IP addresses will be tracked to ensure there are no duplicates.
The nominator must be at least 18 years of age.
You cannot nominate your own blog.
You must provide all information requested for your nomination to count.
You must provide the URL of the blogs you nominate in order for them to count.
You must submit all of your nominations at one time.
Blogs must be written by a Christian author. We reserve the right to refuse to include any blog we feel is not supportive of our biblical, Christian beliefs. Blogs that bash other beliefs will not be included as well.
