Your family is…
full of joyful mayhem!
Name 5 homeschool products you cannot live without:
Flip Over Math, the great outdoors, our microscope, books that reaffirm our faith such as those by Liberty Press and Rod and Staff, and great classic books for family read-alouds.
What was your favorite toy as a child?
baby doll, of course. That and nature.
What is your favorite toy as a grown-up?
sewing machine
When you were little, what did you want to do when you grew up?
a mama and a nurse. I was a nurse for a few years until we began our family so I’ve experienced both. Being a mama beats the other any day.
How many houses have you lived in?
7
Favorite homeschool hero?
The real life moms I am surrounded by who homeschool their children with a vast array of needs and capabilities and do it with grace and love.
Favorite Bible verse?
“Blessed is the man who’s mind is stayed on Him, for He keeps him in perfect peace.”
Are you an introvert or extrovert? How do you know?
somewhere in the middle, I think. I was very introverted as a child but it was because of the stressful and disfuntional homelife I had. Now, I’m very extroverted except for the rare occasion when I’m caught in a circle of women and the conversation revolves around designers and labels on clothing. Then, I’m lost and retreat.
If you could travel back in time, where would you go?
This is a hard one! I’d love to meet Jesus face to face and I’d love to sit down with my great grandmother and glean from her amazing faith. She faced the death of babies and one grown son and yet her testimony of love of Jesus lives on all these years later.
What kind of homeschooler are you?
Eclectic, relaxed, wanna be unschooler.
Do you have an accent?
No, but I do have a quiet, serious mama tone of voice that commands immediate attention.
Favorite dessert?
warm chocolate chip cookies and farm fresh milk.
What are you good at? whipping up something delicious in the kitchen and all manner of crafty ventures.
What are you horrible at?
functioning on little sleep and construction and plumbing. It may sound weird but those second two are skills I would love to have.
Tell us something really strange about yourself.
I am handy with my toes. I can pick things up with them and generally use them as a second set of hands when needed. I’d rather be barefoot but if I have to wear shoes, they’d better be cute, have heels and be generally uncomfortable.
Hannah Hagarty is a relaxed homeschooling mama of five. Her and her family are big on the outdoors, big on family days, and big on making memories in everyday small ways. She loves handcrafts, iced lattes, re-arranging furniture and counts falling into bed exhausted a sign of a really great day. She and her husband make a home in upstate New York with their energetic children and a menagerie of animals. Hannah blogs at Cultivating Home.
