Giveaway: Real Moms, Real Jesus

June 22, 2009 by AmyS

rmrjWhat does Jesus know about the peanut-butter-and-jelly life of a mom? Plenty! Jill Savage, founder and director of Hearts at Home, introduces the real Jesus to real moms. In chapters that examine key behaviors and decisions Jesus made during His life on earth, Jill brings those lessons right down to the laundry-filled, sticky-fingered days every mother knows.

Between the chapters are interactive vignettes that turn the concept of the book back around. If the meat of the content is looking at Jesus’ life on earth and understanding how to apply that in our everyday lives, these perspective vignettes are brief, refreshing glimpses starting with our own messy, busy lives. Jill continually reminds the reader that Jesus is not an unattainable deity, but a Friend who understands.

About the Author
Jill Savage is the founder and executive director of Hearts at Home, an organization committed to helping moms love their life. She and her husband, Mark, a senior pastor, have been married for over two decades and have five children, one of whom is married.

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to give away TWO copies of Real Moms, Real Jesus. Leave a comment to be entered. Comments will be closed Friday, June 26th at 10:00pm EST. The winners will be notified by email.

As a mom of3 young children.. sometimes I forget to focus on Him and what He wants to do in my life and the life of my children. And that He understands the everyday stresses that I face as a mom.

I think it is very easy to forget that Jesus was in all ways tempted as we are, even though it may have been in a different situation. I think moms tend to feel “mardered” at times because of the never ending, sometimes overwhelming load we shoulder and forget that, at the base, we are servants who are called to serve like Jesus and to keep focused while we teaach our children. Sounds like this book might just be the reminder we need.
