After reading the first chapter of this book here I was drawn in by the way the book was written. I knew instantly that this version of Eve’s life was not going to be presented in the flowery way most Christian books are written. For a lack of a better term, this story of Eve was, well, dark.
Tosca Lee has taken a story that generations have heard time and again and researched and reflected deeply on the topic. Do not be fooled by the beautifully written prose in this book. The preciseness and intensity of man’s first sin and the repercussions of that sin will undoubtedly knock the wind out of you. Consider this: It is meant to have exactly that effect!
Never again will you look upon the story in Genesis with innocent eyes, from God’s command to Eve to “Wake!” to the beautifully cunning serpent to the grief that followed Adam and Eve for generations—this book is a must-read.
You know the story, I encourage you to buy it and have your eyes opened.

Sometimes I think we need to be reminded no matter how dark our past, Jesus is our redeeming Savior.

I’ve heard alot about this book since it debuted. I’m eager to have our ladies book group read it. We enjoy reading anything that is going to stir up our faith and reaffirm the foundation that we have in Christ. We also like books that bring up the hard questions so that we can discuss them and search the Word for solutions, comfort, and answers. Looking forward to reading it.

This sounds like a good read… I am so interested….
I think we need to be reminded at times what our repercussions can be when we sin or stray…. I am not perfect and make alot of mistakes and try each day to do better and get closer to God.

Sounds like an interesting book. I always enjoy books that help us look at the bible with fresh eyes. Having grown up in church, I sometimes find that I still view bible stories through the eyes of a child, and not from an adult perspective.

I just received the newsletter and see that the deadline has passed, but would love to win a copy of the book. Had an opportunity to meet Tosca several weeks ago, but was not able to attend because kids were ill.
