Welcome to the Heart of the Matter Online Meme.
Every Friday we will feature a different topic for our meme. Please share with us your thoughts on the following: Easter Reflections and Traditions
As we draw close to Easter 2009, what’s on your mind? How do you celebrate Easter? What are your traditions? Thoughts? How does your heart feel today? Best Easter ever? Share with us.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead… 1 Peter 1:3
Is there anything you need prayer for? Remember as we creep toward Sunday that our awesome Saviour loves you, forgives you, and wants you to know Him. May you be blessed.

On our ministry website, we have many “Mission-Minded Family” ideas for focusing our thoughts on our Lord’s atoning death on the Cross and His glorious Resurrection!
This week, our family has been making a targeted effort to welcome people to church (with little invitation cards) for this week’s special Easter service. Tonight (Good Friday) we’ll be attending an open-air passion play (at the local court house and behind the public library, which includes a 3 block march through the streets with Jesus carrying the cross). Saturday, we’ll be going with relatives to a city-wide Easter egg hunt (where we’ll invite others to church), followed by egg decorating (which will include coloring phrases like “JESUS IS ALIVE” or little drawings of the cross or the empty tomb before we put them in the dye). Then, on Sunday, we’ll be having a bigger-than-normal breakfast with relatives, followed by a glorious worship service (and our kids are excited to present a choreographed worship song, which they’ve been rehearsing for weeks).
It’s a wonderful time of the year!
