The verse in Isaiah reminds me of the song, “Little by Little.” Thanks for your encouraging article on how to fit homeschooling into your busy day, especially with lots of children in your homeschool. We have two kids but know lot of families with more. Sounds like you’re doing a wonderful job!

Thanks so much for this! That verse from Zechariah is one I have held onto for years! We, too, are finding that the day does not hold enough hours for what we want to accomplish, so some extraneous things need to go, and some necessary things need to double up! I’ll definitely be adding some more games to my week this week. My kids would love it, and I always forget to incorporate them. Thanks again!

This was such a great reminder and something I have totally been thinking on lately. The last part of that verse: “here a little, there a little”. What power lies behind these words. I often try to pile on so much at once, when I really only have to do a little everyday. THAT’S what’s going to build a disciple. A little character training, a little drilling, a little of this and a little of that — but CONSISTENTLY. Line UPON line. Precept UPON precept. The goal is to keeping pressing on everyday. Thank you!

Dear Melissa, This is a very well written article! I love the application of the verse with a little here and a little there. So true of homeschooling. It is a broad venture – not a job from 9-2. Keep loving those little ones, they are blessed to have you guiding, teaching, cooking, wiping, shopping, laughing, crying, etc, etc!

You’ve got some good, helpful ideas here. Thanks for sharing. This is about the time of year when I start to feel overwhelmed by the little stuff. This is a good reminder of easy ways to still fit the little stuff in without being overwhelmed.
