Took me a while to embrace ‘taking the writing out of everything but writing’ concept, but once I did — it made a big difference. Esp with boys. It is such a separate skill.

And I too tend to get caught up in details (esp with world history) — I’m finally learning to stop fretting over specific names and dates and trying to help my grade schoolers ‘get’ the big picture. (It would probably help if *I* got the big picture…but that’s another story.)
