In the Hands of a Child Review & Giveaway

I know there is a wonderful variety available when it comes to homeschool geography courses. Despite (or maybe because of) all the choices, I have been stymied in my efforts to find one that works for my son. Since necessity is the mother of invention and I am the mother of an active 13-year-old boy, I have been crafting our own geography course, one continent at a time.

As we work our way to Africa, this ongoing project is in the form of a lapbook. In the Hands of a Child’s Continent Study Series includes a project pack that is adaptable for any age. (No, really – it is.) Using the Africa pack will reduce my planning and give my son some hands-on work. A tactile project always cements facts in his mind and lapbooks are fun, even if you are a teenager.

The Africa pack includes a planning guide, research materials, a bibliography and every template needed to make an extensive lapbook covering everything from economics to food. This project thoroughly covers the five themes of geography and should leave students with a greater appreciation for a continent with a rich, diverse heritage.

Homeschooling families teaching multiple grades will have to make a few adjustments for different ages, but the bones are here to make the study great for various levels.

In the Hands of a Child offers a wide variety of project packs, including unit studies, language arts, science, history and more. Everything from American Girl to Christian missionaries to a multiplication pizza party is available for study in project pack form.

Would you like to win a continent project pack from In the Hands of a Child? SEVEN winners will be chosen! Each will receive a continent project pack.
