Karin
Review Specialist
Greetings from Sunny Florida! My name is Karin Taylor and I’ve been married for the past 8 years to a hardworking Road Warrior who has become a wonderful homeschooling advocate and my biggest supporter. After years of infertility struggles we are blessed to have four incredible miracles—fraternal twin boys (age 5), a spunky 3 year old daughter (who refers to her older brothers as “my boys”), and a newborn daughter (also known as “cutie pie”) who is our only child to sleep through the night at 7 weeks and not have colic!
I view homeschooling as an incredible gift to me, as well as our children. I feel extremely blessed to be able to stay at home while homeschooling our children and though it keeps my desk messy and my plastic tubs overflowing, I wouldn’t have it any other way! I truly enjoy learning alongside my children (I guess you could say I have developed a lifelong love of learning) and our varied schedule also includes as much travel with their Road Warrior father as possible. I hope our very eclectic homeschool style will be an asset to Heart of the Matter readers. I feel my love of all things homeschool and natural “research prone personality” make me a good fit for “Review Specialist” (had to work in my fancy title somehow!) and a very enthusiastic one at that!
There are so many great resources out there available to homeschoolers today. It is my personal hope that the books, products, curriculum and membership websites I review will give other mothers the encouragement they need to continue to teach their children at home and provide that extra boost their child may need, at just the right time, to instill a lifelong love of learning.
When I’m not busy with all things homeschooling I enjoy going to bible study at our church, participating in MOPS, reading, trying my hand at freelance writing, connecting with friends through the internet, photographing my family, scrapbooking, and traveling. It’s my dream to one day homeschool across the USA in an RV—or live on a beach in Costa Rica for 6 months while the whole family becomes bilingual!
