Wow, great article! Thank you so much for the reminder that I cannot expect my children to "deal with it" if I never take the time to really teach them HOW!! What a wonderful way to show my children grace.

Thank you for this article. I really hadn't taken the time to evaluate this topic before. I do expect my kids to just deal with it and didn't take into consideration that it's my job to help them deal with it. It is unfair of me to expect that they would even have the tools to work things out within themselves. Thank you again for opening my eyes to this.

I agree with you! What a great and practical article. I'm sure most parents (if not all) have had moments when they've expected their child to just "get over it" when they're having a bad day. Maybe it's because sometimes it's hard for parents to know when it truly is a bad day or simply a bad attitude. The point you made about going to God alone I think is so important. When those moments occur, we can go to God and ask Him to show us if it is just a bad attitude that needs to be dealt with appropriately or if the child is struggling and having a bad day. Then ask God for direction and guidance as to how to handle the situation. I love that you pointed out that these situations can be opportunities for us to teach our children how to handle the stress of life.

The other suggestions are also wonderful! Taking time to explore the Word together helps our children see to Whom we need to go to for help. Re-evaluating our schedule and our method of homeschooling both are great points as well.

Hope you have a wonderful week!
Karen
