I’m a former public school survivor who escaped into unschooling two weeks into my junior year. (FYI, my home school status did not hinder my college possibilities.)

I love my home, and I’m all about do-it-yourself projects, so it’s no wonder that I’m a homeschooling, home birthing, stay-at-home mother. I’m joyfully married to an amazing fellow. He’s the sort of guy who can do almost anything, like cook amazing dishes, fix the toilet when it’s more than a “jiggle the handle” issue, or even put together a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He knows how to sew. He knows how to build a house. He knows how to run our business. He even knows how to deliver a baby (as he delivered our third child)! Most of all, he knows how to be a spiritual leader in our home. I could not have asked God for a better match!

We have been blessed with three children who are incredibly intelligent and absolutely adorable. (It’s not biased if it’s true, right?) I love watching their personalities unravel and their minds flourish as they grow. Unschooling fits us well as we are all naturally curious and love to learn. As a family, we have a great thirst for knowledge! My husband and I have a wonderful opportunity to protect and nurture our munchkins’ minds, hearts, and souls as God would have us.

We’re a creative family. I love to write, paint, and doodle. I can type over 100 words per minute without looking at the keyboard. I’m a snap-happy shutterbug who loves to cook and rarely uses a recipe. One day, I’ll finish the several novels I have started. I love writing songs, mostly the sort that express my praise and worship to my Heavenly Father.

Life is an adventure, one that should bring us closer to God. We are currently going through the process to become International Missionaries. It’s exciting (and frightening as well)! I’ve come to believe that teaching others means we ourselves will learn a lot, and learning often means stepping outside of our comfort zones!

So here’s to the process of life! *Clink* God bless!
