Thanks ladies!! So glad this was helpful :-)

Ezmum, it's great and completely right for you that your categories are different. Everyone's will be varied for each families likes and dislikes. Ours currently has LOTS of salad and raw veggies!!

Laney, I use our electric skillet alot as well. We do everything from pancakes to stew to pork chops to cooked apples in it!! My mom only ever used hers for fried chicken so I thought I didn't need one. Now I wonder how I lived so long without one :-)

Lori {{{HUGS}}} to you!!

God bless,
Sallie

I love Leslie's books. Her simply frugal books are a must. I have the breakfast, lunch, and electric skillet books. They are a wonderful resource of info for saving money in the kitchen and they are full of great recipes.
I never owned an electric skillet before reading Leslie's book. Now, I cook in it daily. You just can't go wrong with her material.

I also participate in MPM and try to plan my menus by the month. It's amazing how much easier my cooking and shopping are with a plan. I try to buy all the non-perishables and meat at the beginning of the month and go weekly for things like bread, milk and fresh fruits/veggies. I'm always looking for new ideas to make my system better... off to checkout the e-book.

I plan my menu too. Just that I am a chinese, so our 'categories' will look slightly different. for dinner things like Veg, Protein, Soup, Lunches, etc. Lunch will include pastas, noodle soup, fried noodles, fried rice and porridge too. Breakfast are pretty standard, ie, sandwich.

Menu and ingredient purchase lists certainly makes shopping easier and cheaper.

I need to do better with menu planning. I try to grocery shop just once a week and have enough on hand to make several meals. This week we'll be eating baked chicken, beef franks, deluxe cheeseburger salad, egg salad, leg of lamb, and sloppy joes.

Of course they are organized by catergory, (beef, chicken, pork, seafood, mexican, italian, veggie, etc.).
My children are going to start helping plan our menus!!
I will be getting the ebook today!!!
Thanks,
Bunny
