Columbus, Ohio & Baton Rouge, Louisiana, January 11, 2008 – With the lifestyle of home education rapidly growing, two moms, from the suburbs of Louisiana and Ohio, developed a friendship that turned into a partnership to encourage and empower home schooling parents around the world. The team now known as “The Amies” was formed and HeartOfTheMatterOnline.com made its debut on January 8, 2007.

This online magazine is a website where all homeschooling parents, seasoned or new, can find resources, reviews, giveaways, projects, ideas, forums, unit studies, printables, and support from other home school parents like themselves. The writers are made up of some of the home schooling community’s most popular bloggers. Each brings their own passion and style to the magazine that features regular columns about: Teaching Music and Art; Learning Difficulties; Unschooling; Preschool; Homeschool, In the News; Teaching Children With Disabilities; and more.

The Heart of the Matter’s purpose is to provide a place for homeschooling parents and teachers to find all of the resources they desire in one convenient location. With thousands of links online related to home schooling, taking the time to find good, relative sites can be difficult. THOM desires to change that. With a site that is easy to navigate and pleasant to the eye, their vision for the future includes: a print magazine, teaching videos, online seminars and continued motivation.
