So, how has the summer been? Has the sunshine brought great things in your home? I must say while it has its perks I am ready to ship these kiddos to their grandma this week! (And I *like* homeschooling–sincerely!) So, give me the best and worst…how has your day/week/month been?

Frustrating. I love the summer months, but trying to school through it challenging! In addition, I’m struggling with trying to balance house cleaning with school. I think my scales are tipped the wrong way (too much cleaning). Sounds crazy, I know, but not everything can be 100% and I’d rather tip the scales in my kids’ favor rather than in a perfectly clean house. So I need to work on that. I need to work on focusing and follow through. *sigh*
    I need Jesus.
    Anyone else? LOL

Although we’re not “doing school” for a few weeks, I sneaked in a great living book and then some hands-on activities related to it. Don’t you love it when you can underhandedly do school and they don’t even KNOW?

The summer is going by too fast, and I don’t like it:)
My husband and I are taking turns going away on mission trips, and that is awesome, but it adds to the chaos around here! I am learning that I thrive much better when we have the structure of our school day, and accomplish a lot more!
I feel like you, Christin..I am struggling w/ focus and follow through as well right now!

I am missing the structure of our school days. Part of me wants to start back in tomorrow, and the rest of me wonders how I will possibly be ready to start in August!

I am enjoying not having to get up and go in the mornings, but struggle with the feeling of not having accomplished anything beyond three meals a day, laundry, grocery shopping and cleaning. All that has to be repeated day after day anyway.

I guess I need to spend part of the rest of our summer break working on a couple of projects–it would be wonderful to FINISH something!

This summer has been filled with lots of rain, two of the kids working, knee surgery for ds (both knees), gardening, swimming, getting ready for next school year, making transcripts, playing games, watching movies (did I mention all the rainy days?), math with ds, picnics, ds girlfriend visiting from Delaware, saying goodbye to two nephews that are in the army (one is heading to basic training and the other Afghanistan), visiting relatives, and all the other things that life brings. :o ) I can honestly say, I have not done as much fun stuff as I wanted to but I’m enjoying what we do. :o )
