This Father’s Day we will be going to church and then I plan on allowing my husband to do whatever he likes. I will be cooking some of his favorites. If I lived closer to my father we’d be going to visit him.
Some of the things I most admire about my Dad is his strong leadership. He brought me up with a strong knowledge of current events, history and politics. One of my favorite things to do while spending time with him is debating the news. Both of my parents also stressed the importance of family and faith. If not for this I do not know how successful I would have been as a wife or mother. My father has given me great support through deciding to homeschool and pursuing a degree. Though we had difficult times through my teenage years (who doesn’t?) I always knew he loved me.
My husband….he is such a good father. He is what you would consider a ‘manly man’. He is self-sufficient when it comes to fixing things and he is an excellent role model for our children. He demonstrates great love and protectiveness over our family.
I would also like to mention another father figure in my life. Let’s just say when it came to my husband the apple did not fall far from the tree. Despite a rocky start when I married his son he has always been there when I needed immediate help through Jason’s deployments. If there was anything around the house that croaked I could always call him.
I am abundantly blessed in the area of Dads… and I credit this to my Heavenly Father who knew that I was going to need all the help I could get!
