So the conference is done but we sure would appreciate your feedback! This is the perfect place to touch base with those friends you didn’t have a chance to get info to keep in touch and tell us who your fave speakers were! For those who did not attend, we missed you and hope to see you at future events! Tell us how your week went!

So the hard part is over–you’ve chosen to homeschool. Many people have different ideas on how long a child should stay at home. I know the conversation comes up regularly in our household and we may be choosing a private school setting in the future. What’s your ‘game plan’? Does it change with the seasons as our’s does?
Welcome to this week’s version of Repartee! Freedom is the subject in honor of the 4th of July. I imagine grills nationwide will be smoking all kinds of great stuff tomorrow–I can just smell them now! Isn’t it wonderful when families get a chance to spend quality time together? My husband has both today *and* Monday off so we are super lucky this year.
Here are my questions for you this week:
Leave a comment by Thursday and have a great week!
Some of us are ending our school year, some are in the middle and some are at the beginning. Therefore let’s go by calendar year, today is June 12, 2009–give me your biggest yearbook moments since June 12, 2008.
Since I am still hiding, sniffling and sneezing in my home (stupid cold) I have provided the following video found on YouTube for your inspiration. (Trust me, there is nothing inspirational about a drippy, whiny, tissue-holding grump.)
These families on the other hand, ROCK.
I will even add in a pitiful beg…Cheer me up with some happy tales!
So now that you’ve watched this very clever video put together by homeschoolers I am curious to hear what your children know how to do. If their very intelligent parents are online and reading HOTM I can only assume that the children have a clue that texting, emailing, and the internet exist.
My children? They speak a completely different language than me. I consider myself pretty computer savvy, but they add in a language that is a cross between Elvish and Geonosian. (Lord of the Rings and Star Wars) Texting? No problem. Google it? Gotcha Mom! The only things they don’t do are the social networking sites.
So how about it? How tech savvy are your homeschoolers?
