This past year, I bought a book on Stonewall Jackson for my younger daughter to read this year (then decided it was too mature for her). I just put it on the shelf and my older daughter read it and still talks about it! I don't need to have a designated spot for new books; they're inspected carefully (and often "dibbed") as they come into the house!
