Tammy

Greetings from Tammy at Garden Glimpses!

Married in 1980 and still living in the same house in a woodsy rural setting, our homeschooling journey began in the fall of 1987 when our oldest turned six years old. As rather new believers professing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, homeschooling was a way to live out the principles found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Through all the challenges of life we have stayed the course growing to a family with nine children who presently range from preschool age to college graduates married with children.

Back when we began, homeschooling totally consumed our family and every moment of life. It has transitioned through the years currently blending into our family as part of the rhythm of daily life. There is still delight in a little one learning to write their name, a young one figuring out reading, a middle child mapping the world with faraway places,a high schooler mastering algebraic equations. As children are given the proper tools, learning comes alive and grows not only through high school, but is continued throughout life. Even more importantly, as parents we are able to share God’s Word and principles of faith which are foundational for living life to the fullest.

My role has transitioned from learning everything I could about homeschooling to becoming an encourager to others coming along the way.It has been a delight to use the experiences God has provided to grow my own faith through the years to help and minister to others as He places them in my life.

May you be encouraged as you walk down the path of homeschooling!
